Poison Spyder Brawler Rockers Body Armor
Fits the following applications:
'07-'18 Jeep Wrangler JK 2 Door
Part #: 17-08-200Jeep JK's, are extremely vulnerable to rocker armor damage on the trail. Poison Spyder Brawler Rockers™ provide the ultimate rocker armor protection while actually enhancing your Jeep's off-road capability—not to mention they look bad-ass!
The upper piece attaches to the body tube using supplied stainless steel flat-head cap screws and nut-serts. The lower piece attaches to the upper piece also with stainless steel flat-head cap screws and easy-to-install clip-nuts. All fastener holes are countersunk for a flat surface using the flat-head hardware. Underneath, the lower piece attaches at the Jeep's body mounts. Attaching the Brawler Rockers™ in this way, along several different planes, provides triangulated strength to the entire assembly. The body-mount tie-ins ensure that they are securely integrated to the strongest structural component of the Jeep—the frame—while also allowing the Brawler Rocker™ to hug the body tub as closely as possible. Please note that Brawler Rockers are NOT compatible with body lifts.
Brawler Rockers™ are designed to handle a serious beating! They not only provide unmatched rocker protection, but they also provide a super strong pivot point which can help you to maneuver through tight obstacles. The boatside design will allow the Jeep to slide off of rocks and back onto the center of the trail. The protruding rub rail keeps vertical obstructions such as trees and rock walls a safe distance from the Jeep's doors and other vulnerable body parts. And when you need to change a tire or perform an extraction, the Brawler Rocker™ provides a strong, convenient lifting point for your Hi-Lift jack.
This product ships as bare steel—it will need to be painted or powder coated prior to final installation. We do not offer a powder coat option for this item. Note that if you have previously installed Poison Spyder's JK Body Armor, you will be able to re-use the existing nut-serts, saving a significant amount of installation time (Body Armor will have to be removed).
SpyderShell™ Armor Coat
SpyderShell™ is more than just powder coating—it's a complete system that includes the state of the art in preparation, application, materials and packaging to ensure that your SpyderShell™ products stay looking great for years. The SpyderShell™ process has been engineered to provide your Poison Spyder product with years of unmatched great looks, corrosion protection and weather-resistance. Our proprietary 6-stage system starts with media blasting the entire part, to remove contaminents and prep the metal surface for the best possible adhesion. Next, any seams are sealed with 3M Scotch-Weld to block moisture from entering and causing corrosion where the powder can not reach. The first coat to be applied is a zinc-rich powdered black primer, which is baked on to form an impenetrable bond between the metal product and the coating. The primer is black--rather than traditional gray--so that any rock chips or trail damage are less conspicuous. The final top coat is an industrial grade, "super-durable" architectural finish in semi-gloss black, which is engineered to retain its appearance through years of exposure to sun and weather. SpyderShell is a coating process unmatched by any other Jeep armor aftermarket manufacturer, for which we are confident in offering a 5-year warranty on materials and workmanship.
Due to popular demand, Poison Spyder Brawler Rockers™ for JK are now available in light-weight aluminum. Features and construction are exactly identical to our Heavy Duty STEEL Brawler Rockers™, the only exception being that these are fabricated from 3/16" thick aluminum plate rather than 3/16" steel. Aluminum would be preferred by those who want the bad-ass looks, entry step functionality, and an admittedly reduced measure of rocker armor protection, but with a very significant weight savings compared to the steel versions. For those who will be testing their Jeeps on tougher trails where frequent contact with the rocks is to be expected, we highly recommend opting for the steel versions. While the aluminum is a respectable 3/16" thick, it should not be expected to withstand the same amount of punishment that our steel Brawler Rockers can handle. This product ships as bare aluminum—it will need to be painted or powder coated prior to final installation. We do not offer a powder coat option for this item.
