The Poison Spyder WELDED Lazer-Fit™ Full Cage is a complete, ready to bolt-in cage designed with hard core four-wheeling in mind. It represents a combination of maximum functionality and unmistakable Poison Spyder style. Available for most Jeep Wrangler models, the Welded Full Cage is manufactured with Poison Spyder's proprietary Lazer-Fit™ system and precise assembly fixtures to ensure an easy installation. And there are many options available to customize the cage to your specific needs.
All of our Full Cage Kits now feature Poison Spyder's exclusive Lazer-Fit™ system to ensure precise fit and easy installation. The Lazer-Fit™ system involves every aspect of the component, from 3-D CAD design to production on state-of-the-art machinery. The entire assembly is fully engineered in 3-D design software, using an actual 3D model of the specific vehicle to ensure the best fit and use of space. Plate steel components are CNEC laser cut and precision brake-formed. Tubular components are laser-cut, laser-notched and laser-etched to exact tolerances then CNC bent for a quality-assured, precise fit. The fully welded cages are assembled in a Lazer-Fit™ assembly fixture that ensures a precise fit and easy installation.
All Poison Spyder tubular components are made of DOM (Drawn Over Mandrel) tubing. The DOM manufacturing process strengthens the tubing and gives it more uniform, precise dimensions that are better suited both to the high precision manufacturing methods of a Lazer-Fit cage as well as the high stress job a cage performs. DOM is stronger in tension, compression, bending, and against denting than the more popular (and more widely used by our competitors) HREW tubing.
The Lazer-Fit™ Full Cage Kit incorporate Poison Spyder's proprietary Lower A-Pillars. The Lower A-Pillar is engineered to provide a strong foundation for the forward section of the cage while not intruding into the dash or compromising legroom. The Lower A-Pillars and gussets, as well as all mounting plates, are CNC laser cut and precision brake-formed from high strength 3/16" plate steel for quality and fit.
Increased Head Room
The Lazer-Fit™ Full Cage Kit was recently re-designed to provide approximately 3/4" more head room, while still fitting under the factory hard and soft top. The design of the center stringer tubes was re-configured to provide maximum head room further forward. The rear passenger area also recieved increase headroom, and there's also more room for the hard top rear window wiper motor.
The B-Pillar is the most important structural member of the cage. The B-Pillar tube in the Poison Spyder Lazer-Fit Full Cage was recently re-designed to both increase its strength and provide more interior room. The B-Pillar now hugs the inside walls of the Jeep's tub and top more closely, providing more room inside the cabin. And we've included weld-in bolt sleeves and 1/2" Grade 8 bolts that tie the cage in to the OE roll bar brackets on the inside of the cage's tub, providing extra strength to both the cage and the side of the Jeep's body tub. At the top, the B-Pillar connection to the cage assembly is strengthened with laser-notched 90° tube gussets.
Laser Etched Drill Marks
Not only are assembly marks laser etched into the cage tubes, but we've also etched drill marks for re-installation of many OE components such as soft top door surrounts, speaker pods, soft top bow brackets and seat belts (see optional seat belt brackets below). Etching these drill locations makes it easy for those who want to re-install these components, but also leaves the tube intact and un-drilled for those who choose not to install certain components.
A behind-the-seat harness bar is included with the cage, however it is not welded in place by Poison Spyder. As each seat configuration is different, we leave it to the installer to decide whether to install the harness bar, and to determine the proper height to attach it for each specific Jeep. At this time we do not offer a weld-in service for the seat belt bar.
